Where's My Breakfast?

Lydia opens the back door to find 3 hungry hens,
waiting for their daily lettuce breakfast.
(Left to right) Lexi, Speckles, and Coco look hungry whilst
Frenchy stands in the background looking away.
Speckles turned 6 years old last month and she's just finished moulting.
Here comes Lexi the white leghorn.
Here comes Frenchy, the French Wheaten Maran
hen who turned 6 years old last month.
Frenchy is Speckles half sister.
Frenchy loves food. You've never seen a chicken eat so much food in all your life!
She is ALWAYS hungry.
Lexi and Frenchy stand at the back door.
Here comes Coco.
Coco and Lexi go for a morning stroll past the back door, waiting to be fed.

Christmas 2023 Memories

The happy hens are excited to see Lydia on Christmas day morning 2023.
It's breakfast time with lots of lettuce.
Lexi the leghorn stands tall.
Don't you think Lexi's big red floppy comb looks like Santa's hat?!
Frenchy (left), Speckles (right) and Lexi (rear) chill out after
Christmas breakfast and sit under the grapevine in the pen.
The 3 happy hens sit together. Where's Coco?
Coco's in the nesting box, preparing to lay an egg on Christmas day.
Coco is approximately 4 years old.
Hoorary! An egg on Christmas day! Thanks Coco.

Community Garden Open Day

The local Community Garden had a public open day on Saturday
2nd December. Lydia and Gerard went along to check it out.
There was a kangaroo sculpture at the entrance made of recycled materials.
The chicken pen.
Can you see some hens standing at the pen door?
Inside the chicken coop.
Chickens are curious creatures.
The hens are different breeds. There's a total of 10 hens.
Speeches from hard working Community Garden volunteer Lilian (left)
and the local Member of Parliament Ali (right) who helped fund the project.
Reverend Dr. Smith (left) did a blessing of the chickens,
giving thanks for Community Gardens.
Reverend Dr. Smith held up the prayer she read out.
Thank you, God, for Community Gardens.
Lilian held up the new sign naming the chicken pen 'Karlkurla Rise'.
Ali and Lilian cut the ribbon and officially open the chicken coop.
Gerard loves this sign!

Barbeque Chicken

Coco was broody during the warmer spring month of October.
She was very clucky and flighty whilst broody.
Here you see her fluffed up sitting on a barbeque.
Coco is a barbeque chicken! LOL!

Knock, Knock, Who's There?

Lexi stands at the front door by herself.
We have visitors!
Lexi sits down whilst Coco looks through the door.
Frenchy is in the background and Speckles is
standing on the left preening under her wing.
Now Frenchy looks though the middle of the door whilst Coco turns away.
Lexi chills out sitting on the doormat. Speckles looks on from the left.
Is anybody going to answer the door?
